Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress is well known for her roles in film and television since the late 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of honors, such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards. In the film and television industry, she's known for her numerous nominations and awards. Bassett born in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt, who was born in New York New York, is well-known as an actress. The mother of Bassett had divorced from her father when she was around five. Her younger sister later relocated into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was in high school when she watched James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck in the play Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire of becoming an actor had come true. The year was 1980 and Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale, and in 1997 they were married. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1980.
